It’s been just two months since the launch of the Mojo 300 and Mahindra has already begun testing of the ABS version.
Recently, an ABS version of the Mojo was spied inside a parking lot at a place unknown to us. The bike had testing equipment to check the readiness of this new ABS system. The Mojo is expected to get dual-channel ABS system from Continental, which can be switched off as well. While we appreciate Mahindra’s effort to introduce the ABS unit on the Mojo, it is also preparing itself for the new rule proposed by the government for mandatory ABS and CBS for two-wheelers with displacement over 125cc. This act will be implemented by 2017.
Mahindra has smartly positioned the Mojo 300 as a touring motorcycle, even though it follows the traditional naked bike type. But in order to justify the touring nature, the company has equipped the Mojo with a 21-litres fuel tank, which is brilliant. It also gets a twin-headlamp setup with DRLs, USD forks at the front, dual exhaust and an instrument cluster that also shows lap-times.
While the Mojo had a good start, the company silently increased the price of the bike by Rs 5000, taking its ex-showroom Mumbai price to Rs 1.65 lakh. We are expecting Mahindra to launch this ABS version at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo, but till then, we will see a lot of spy pictures of this new variant.
