Mahindra’s new flagship motorcycle, the Mojo, has been spotted testing on the outskirts of Pune. The 300cc motorcycle had been spied testing earlier in a disguised avatar.
The Mojo was unveiled at the recently concluded Auto Expo and Mahindra showcased a production ready and a race-spec version of the motorcycle at the biennial event. Though this bike is mechanically the same as the two-wheeler exhibited at the 2012 Auto Expo, it gets significant cosmetic changes. These include a new front cowl and fuel tank. The twin headlamp setup now gets DRLs.
The upcoming Mojo is powered by a 300cc DOHC four valve engine that might churn out around 26bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 24Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. This motor is mated to a six-speed transmission. Mahindra has equipped this motorcycle with the Ducati electronic fuel injection system that improves the performance while making sure that the CO2 gas emissions are reduced. With dual exhausts, the Mojo features a gas charged mono shock at the rear.
The Mahindra Mojo is taking a long time to be launched in the Indian bike market. Buyers already seem to have lost interest that generally an upcoming bike or a new product garners. When the bike was unveiled, the initial reactions of almost every individual nor the reactions at the Auto Expo 2014 were good.
Mahindra has delayed the launch of this product due to the continuous tests being done. But we still think that the new Mojo 300 boasting of new DRLs might leave people astonished considering the amount of development the company might bring in with such exhaustive testing.
