Mahindra has confirmed that their 300cc motorcycle, the Mojo, will be launched next fiscal year. The premium motorcycle was first unveiled in 2010 and since then the project has been delayed as the company has working on the bike to give a good product to the Indian consumers.
During company’s recent launch of the Pantero and the Centuro, the new 110cc motorcycles, the senior management confirmed the launch of Mojo in coming months. The officials confirmed that the testing in in final stages and the final product will be ready soon. The initial design was done by an Italian firm, Engines Engineering. The Mojo is powered by a 300cc single-cylinder engine, which produces power of 25bhp at 8500rpm and torque of 24Nm at 7000rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
"We are going through testing protocols right now for the engine. We are hopeful of its launch in the next fiscal," said Anoop Mathur, president of Mahindra two-wheeler.
The Mojo, is expected to compete with the KTM’s Duke 390 that is scheduled to launch in the few months. It will have to be seen whether the Mojo will have an edge over the Duke 390 on pricing. We expect the KTM 390 to be priced very competitively as it based on the 200 Duke.
