Mahindra has increased the price of their 300cc Mojo motorcycle by Rs 5,000. The motorcycle now costs Rs 1,65,500 (ex-showroom Mumbai).
Though the aggressive introductory launch price now stands revised, it is still not really expensive for the package offered. The bike features a twin headlamp setup with DRLs, a 21-litre fuel fuel tank and a lap-timer on its funky instrument console. The motorcycle gets upside down forks in the front, a swingarm-mounted gas charged monoshock at the rear and a one-into-two dual exhaust. An upright riding stance is offered thanks to the tall handlebar placement and centre-set footrest position.
The Mojo gets black alloys that are shod with 17-inch Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres. The braking power comes from 320mm petal disc brakes in the front and 240mm discs at the rear, which are developed and imported from JJUAN. ABS will be brought in probably by 2017. The bike comes equipped with a new safety system, which, in the 'Limp Home Mode' limits the engine to 5,000rpm if the bike heats up or detects any other problem. There is also a roll over sensor which shuts the engine off if the bike leans beyond 45 degrees or falls.
The Mojo is powered by a four-stroke 292cc single-cylinder mill, which is Euro 3 and BSIV compliant. This liquid-cooled and fuel-injected engine churns out 27bhp of power and 30Nm of torque. The motor comes mated to a six-speed transmission and to handle the ample torque in the lower range, the Mojo comes with a torque limiter slipper gear.
The Mojo is Mahindra's new flagship motorcycle that has taken quite a long time in its development since its debut at the 2012 Auto Expo. However, the finished product is still impressive and offered in three colours - black, white and red. As of now, the black paint scheme is readily available, but the other two colours demand a waiting period of a month.
