Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd. announced a boost of 252 per cent in sales for December 2013. The company sold 19,715 two-wheelers in that period.
With the company selling 19,504 units in the country itself, Mahindra’s two-wheeler segment domestic sales showed an increase of 267 per cent over the corresponding period in 2012. The manufacturer’s sales figures saw a jump ever since the Mahindra Centuro was launched in mid 2013. The motorcycle had crossed more than 30,000 bookings within a couple of months of its introduction and still has been enjoying a good demand in the Indian market.
Viren Popli, Executive Vice President, Mahindra Two Wheelers said, “Mahindra Two Wheelers is closing 2013 on a high note as increasing demand for the Centuro helped to propel it into the ranks of the top 10 motorcycles in the country within just six months of its launch. We have also won several prestigious awards that reflect growing consumer confidence in our technological innovations.”
Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd., a part of Mahindra and Mahindra Group, increased their production to cater to the growing demand of the Centuro. The company also claims to have expanded their sales and service across the country.
