Last week, Mahindra showcased the jcMoto and Centuro Scrambler concept motorcycles at the 2014 Autocar Performance Show in Bandra, Mumbai. The Pune-based manufacturer had first unveiled these two concept motorcycles earlier this year at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, along with a new iteration of the Mojo 300 and the rest of its range.
Both the jcMoto and the Centuro Scrambler are based on the Centuro’s 110cc platform, though the latter’s chassis has been modified to accommodate the rear monoshock and the shorter swingarm. The engine on both the motorcycles is similar to the one in the Centuro, though the carburettor in the jcMoto has been altered to improve the performance and to suit its drag-racer character. The jcMoto also gets a different air filter and exhaust system, and loses a whopping 20 kilograms to aid its performance. With minimal bodywork, a narrow seat and spoke wheels, the jcMoto has been styled to resemble a lightweight cafe racer and gets lightweight components like fibreglass, reinforced plastic and aluminium to help it shed weight.
The Centuro Scrambler on the other hand, as the name suggests, has been styled to look like a rugged scrambler motorcycle. It gets a sculpted fuel tank, a tall fender, underseat exhaust, black alloys wheels and button tyres to go with its character. It also features Mahindra’s trademark golden ribs.
Though both these concept motorcycles look very exciting, they clearly are very far from production stage. Mahindra themselves have announced that they don’t have any immediate plans of putting these concepts into production. But should you wish to convert your own Centuro into either of these motorcycles, you can contact JC Moto or Bombay Custom Works.
