Mahindra Two Wheeler is gearing up to launch their new scooter, codenamed G108. We have recieved an official invite for the same.
Mahindra has done a great job in keeping the development of this new scooter under wraps. Till now, we haven’t seen any prototypes of the scooter testing around Pune nor have we heard anything concrete about it. In the case of the Mojo, it was completely the opposite.
While there isn’t much information on this new scooter, we believe it will be another 110cc scooter that will be for women. We know there have been reports of a new 125cc scooter being developed by Mahindra but it really doesn’t make sense to have another one when the Uzo and the Duro are already doing the job in the segment. What Mahindra needs is another 110cc scooter in the portfolio that will help it take on the biggies like Honda and Hero.
We think this new scooter will target women and will compete with the Honda Activa i and Yamaha Ray. During the launch of the Gusto, one of the top honchos of Mahindra told BikeWale that they would like to exploit the new 110cc platform and come out with more versions. The G108 scooter is a part of the same plan.
