Mahindra’s motorcycle division is all set to introduce its premium 110cc motorcycle in India tomorrow. At an event held in Jaipur the Mahindra Centuro will be launched for the Indian market with the prices expected to be between Rs 48,000 and Rs 53,000.
The Ceturo is Mahindra’s premium 110cc motorcycle that sits above the Pantero. The Centuro is powered by a single cylinder air cooled MCi-5 engine which produces 8.5bhp at 8500rpm and torque of 8.5Nm at 5500rpm. The motorcycle is aimed at the common urban commuter looking for a feature loaded commuter bike.
The motorcycle introduces a long list of first in class features like a completely digital speedometer, ‘find me’ and ‘follow me’ lamps and a tachometer, anti-theft system and an engine immobilizer. The highlight of the feature list is a multifunction flip-to-open key with 96-bit encryption that eliminates key duplication.
Hero Passion and Honda Dream Yuga currently own the majority of the market share in the segment and Mahindra hopes that their feature loaded bike will help them capture a major chunk of the market in a segment that generates maximum volume for the manufacturer.
