Mahindra to stay away from electric scooter segment

-         Mahindra to focus only on motorcycles

-         Won't launch e-scooter

Mahindra has decided to stay away from the electric scooter segment. In fact, they don’t plan to do petrol scooters as well.

This development was announced at the company’s annual meet held in Mumbai today. The company has decided to not do any developments in the scooter space as it failed the taste success a few years ago. The two-wheeler arm of the company used to sell scooter brands like Gusto but these products could barely make a difference. Interestingly, Mahindra used to sell an e-scooter in certain developed markets. However, these products were discontinued and would also have been expensive for the Indian market.

Mahindra has decided to focus all of its energy and resources on motorcycles. So we can expect more motorcycles to be launched under the Yezdi and Jawa brands. We can also see an electric motorcycle that will be launched under BSA.
