Mahindra Racing has announced that the team’s race machine for the 2016 season of Moto3 will break cover on February 3, at the 2016 Auto Expo.
The Auto Expo will serve as the perfect platform for Mahindra Racing to reveal its plans for the 2016 season. For the 2015 season, Mahindra Racing had partnered with Jorge Martinez Aspar to run the factory team, leading to the birth of Mapfre Team Mahindra. Besides the factory team, Mahindra Racing also supplied the Mahindra MGP3O racing bike to Team CIP Moto3, San Carlo Team Italia and the Outox Reset Drink Team taking the total number of Mahindra bikes on the grid to nine.
Mahindra Racing became the first Indian motorcycle constructor to participate in the MotoGP World Motorcycle Racing Championship, when it formed a team back in 2011. Five years on, the team has been steadily improving its performance in the racing series, helping it make a mark on a global scale. The team has been finishing third in the constructors championship since the last three years, and it will attempt to better this performance for the 2016 season.
