Mahindra Two-Wheeler has reported a growth of 136 per cent in September sales. The company sold total of 20,890 units in last month out of which domestic sales stood at 19,716.
The high growth rate is due to strong demand for the company’s new product, the Centuro that has received over 50,000 bookings till date. In order to meet the growing demand, the company has decided to increase the production capacity at their Pithampur plant and also at vendors end for the Centuro. Mahindra has one million per annum capacity at the plant near Indore, which produces both scooters and bikes. But capacity utilisation is much below the installed capacity.
"We are truly delighted with the excellent response we continue to receive for the Centuro, especially in today’s challenging environment. This depicts the high consumer confidence in this innovative motorcycle, which has been developed keeping in mind the customer’s evolving needs and we have significantly ramped up capacity to meet this overwhelming demand,” said Viren Popli, executive vice president, Mahindra Two Wheelers.
