Mahindra Two Wheelers has said that it will be launching a 150cc motorcycle by 2015. The bike is a part of the Pune based two-wheeler maker plans to increase its market share in both the motorcycle and scooter segment in the country.
Currently, the company has only two 110cc motorcycles in their portfolio. The Pantero is priced at Rs 44,190 and the Centuro is yet to be priced. However, we confirmed with Viren Popli (executive vice-president, Mahindra Two Wheelers) via Twitter that an announcement regarding the price of the Centuro will happen by the end of April.
The company is aiming to break even in 2014-2015 and in order to achieve this; it needs to launch products in the economy and commuter segment where the sales are usually the highest. This will also help Mahindra gain additional market share. The company hasn’t given any details on its upcoming 150cc motorcycle but we are expecting it to be targeted at the regular commuter segment and not be a performance oriented bike.
Mahindra Two Wheelers will also be launching their most anticipated motorcycle, the Mojo 300 in next fiscal year.
