Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd. announced their sales for December 2015 showing a decline of 9.91 per cent. The company sold 12,112 units last month in comparison to the 13,445 units sold in December 2014.
The overall sales report shows a decline majorly because of the 18.28 per cent fall in domestic sales. The company sold 10,488 units last month as against 12,835 units sold in the same month in 2014.
Though the company didn’t show an increase in overall sales figures or domestic figures, they exported 1,624 units in December 2015. The manufacturer had sold 610 units in the corresponding period last year showing an increase of 166 .23 per cent in exports.
Despite the launch of the new Mojo, Mahindra couldn't keep up the sales momentum like last year. In 2014, the launch of the Centuro led to a huge demand for the commuter motorcycle, eventually helping the company to achieve high sales figures then. The same cannot be expected with the Mojo as the 300cc motorcycle is available only in select cities. Nevertheless, we can expect there might be a change in these sales numbers in future with the launch of the upcoming Mahindra scooter this month.
