Mahindra two-wheelers continue to lose market share

Mahindra Two-Wheelers Ltd has announced its sales figures for the month of February 2016. The company sold 9952 units in total. Of the total, 8643 units were domestic sales and the remaining 1309 units were sold in the international markets.

Mahindra is one of the few manufacturers to have seen a decline in sales from December 2015. In December, the company moved 12,112 units of which 1,624 were exports. In January, that number has fell to 10,317 units, 1,077 of them being exports.

Starting mid-March, Mahindra Two Wheelers will launch the Gusto 125 in South India first, followed by the western regions and the northern states. The company is taking this launch approach to gain maximum visibility in certain markets, especially the fast growing southern markets. The scooter will directly rival against the Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125.

With the addition of the Gusto 125, Mahindra will have six offerings in its line-up. Namely, the Gusto 110 and 125, Duro, Rodeo, Centuro and the Mojo.
