Just a few hours after the name of Mahindra’s much awaited 110cc scooter’s name was revealed, we got hold of some exclusive spy shots of the scooter. The pictures show the Zesto, internally called G101, without any camouflage and in its full glory. As of now, it has been confirmed that the Zesto will be offered in three colours- red, white and black, though we are sure that the company will have some fancy names for these colour schemes.
The Zesto is Mahindra’s first ever 110cc scooter and will be slotted beneath the Rodeo. As predicted , the spy pictures show the Zesto sporting a front apron with pseudo air vents besides the turn indicators, which reminds us of the exciting Kinetic Blaze. The front also gets a faux aluminium panel which holds the company logo.
The rear of the Zesto gets a long one-piece grab rail and a huge tail lamp assembly which integrates the stop light, reflectors and the clear lens indicators. While the Zesto will get some features from the Centuro like the flip key and auto lock mechanism, Mahindra seems to have skimped on premium features like alloy wheels and disc brake on the front. The instrument cluster gets faux aluminium housing and is completely analogue. Quite a few components are expected to be borrowed from the Mahindra Duro’s parts bin to keep the costs low.
The 110cc engine will also borrow fuel saving technology from the Centuro, which should put its efficiency amongst the best in the segment. The Mahindra Zesto will rival other 110cc scooters like the Hero Pleasure, TVS Jupiter and the segment leader, Honda Activa.
Update: A very reliable source called us to inform that the G101 scooter from Mahindra will be called Gusto and not Zesto.
