Mahindra-owned Peugeot brings Pulsion maxi-scooter in India for the first time

- Peugeot Pulsion 125cc maxi-scooter spotted in India

- Made its debut in Europe earlier this year

- Could be launched in India by Mahindra, the parent company of Peugeot

The Peugeot Pulsion maxi-scooter has been spotted on the Indian soil for the time. Reports suggest that the French brand could be planning to launch the scooter in India soon. The speculation makes sense as Peugeot is owned by Mahindra Two Wheelers Europe, which is a subsidiary of India’s Mahindra & Mahindra group.

Peugeot launched the Pulsion in Europe earlier this year. While it boasts of a bold maxi-scooter styling, it also seems to be an impressive proposition in terms of features and performance. Powered by a 125cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected motor, the Pulsion churns out 14bhp of power and 11.9Nm of peak torque. Notably, these power figures are higher than that of the Aprilia SR 150, which is one of the most powerful scooters available in India

The Pulsion is also loaded with features as it gets LED headlamp and tail lamp along with LED DRLs. What’s more interesting is that it comes equipped with a large TFT full-colour display which connects to smartphone via Bluetooth and shows various information such as incoming calls and messages apart from GPS navigation.

Mahindra is one of the few two-wheeler manufacturers which will be participating in the 2020 Auto Expo in February. It is likely that the brand might use this platform to unveil the Pulsion maxi-scooter in India. Going by a few online reports, the company will also unveil Peugeot electric scooters at the event. This might include the E-Ludix, which Mahindra manufactures at its local plant in Pithampur and exports to Peugeot Moto in Europe.

If it is launched in India, the Peugeot Pulsion could go up against the Suzuki Burgman Street 125, which is currently the only maxi-scooter sold in India. However, looking at the premium package that the Pulsion is, it will be priced on the higher side of the spectrum.
