French two-wheeler maker, Peugeot has launched its latest off-road scooter offering, the XP 400 in Europe. Here’s what the new 400cc scooter packs and looks like.
The XP400’s design is quite rugged and purposeful. It features a split LED headlight topped by a small adjustable visor, split seat, and comparatively tall riding stance. Even the side panels and the overall bodywork is notably sporty and off-road-centric. The XP 400 gets handle guards for added protection.
It’s powered by a 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor that makes 36.7bhp and 38.1Nm. The engine is mated to a CVT gearbox and nestled in a tubular chassis. Peugeot has equipped the XP 300 with a TFT screen with an odometer, trip meter, speedometer, fuel level, and other essential readouts. For added convenience, the scooter also comes with USB charging port, keyless operation, and fog lights mounted on the crash guards.
It rides on USD front forks and a single rear shock while the braking hardware comprises dual 295mm front discs and a single 240mm rear unit with ABS. It’s mounted on 17-inch front and 15-inch rear spoked wheels wrapped in block pattern tyres.
Peugeot has priced the XP400 at EUR 8,249 (approximately Rs 7.29 lakh sans taxes). Currently, the scooter is sold overseas only and won’t be launched in a price-sensitive market like India.
