Mahindra’s upcoming 110cc scooter was spotted testing in Pune. The camouflaged vehicle looked production ready and when launched will go up against the Honda Activa.
Earlier this two-wheeler was seen testing with different body parts. This time the composition is not ill-suited and the scooter looks in a good form.
Currently, Mahindra’s scooters are powered by the 125cc engine found in the Duro, the Rodeo and Flyte. Another engine variant is the 72cc mill seen in the Kine. But this impending scooter from Mahindra might apparently borrow the engine currently seen on the two motorcycles – the Pantero and the Centuro. This 107cc motor which produces 8.5bhp at 7,500 rpm and 8.5Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm, seems to be the only option for the upcoming scooter. So with this engine powering the upcoming two-wheeler, the company will enter the 110cc segment of scooters.
Honda’s Activa, the Dio, the Aviator and now the Activa-i are the scooters leading the sub 110cc segment. TVS Jupiter and the Wego are the other offerings in the same segment. This new scooter from Mahindra will go up against them when launched. This scooter might be unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo in February 2014.
