Mahindra’s upcoming 110cc scooter has been spied on test again, this time revealing what could be the model’s highlighting feature – a smarty key that is already seen on the Centuro commuter motorcycle. Codenamed G301, it is Mahindra’s first scooter offering developed by the firm, on its own.
Said to be positioned in the entry-level scooter segment, the upcoming model from Mahindra could be powered by a 110cc single cylinder engine which is currently found on the Centuro. The air cooled unit, in its current state, makes 8.3bhp of power and 8.5Nm of torque. Naturally, Mahindra will fit in a CVT automatic gearbox instead of the Centuro’s four-speed unit.
According to the report, the prototype model of this new scooter was spied on its way to ARAI, Pune. Not much is known about it; however, the spy shots do reveal the smart key, unique design for the wheels, a chunky grab handle and taillight assembly.
The new 110cc model from Mahindra is expected to be launched sometime this year. When launched, the model will be seen competing in the highly intensified 110cc scooter segment which currently includes the Honda Activa, Hero Maestro and TVS Jupiter.
