Mahindra Two Wheelers upcoming budget Pantero motorcycle has been spied testing again in Pune. From the previous spy images and current ones, it can be clearly seen that the company has stripped down many components of this motorcycle to fit in their budget pricing. This budget Pantero is likely to be targeted to the rural market where a price point plays a very important role.
Few Pantero features have been left out for this budget variant. It gets a basic round headlamp and the side blinkers looks cheap but does its job. This budget variant is a part of Mahindra’s plan of launching 10 new products in next 2 years.
The budget Panterto variant will be powered same single-cylinder air-cooled MCi-5 engine (Microchip ignited 5-curve engine) from the current Pantero lineup. This engine produces 8.5bhp at 8500rpm and torque of 8.5Nm at 5500rpm and is mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox.
The current base Pantero variant which features analog display, kick start and spoke wheels is priced at Rs 39,650 (ex-showroom Delhi). Expect the budget variant to be price at least Rs 2000 less than the current base Pantero motorcycle.
