The craze for modern classic bikes have grown by leaps and bounds over the years and it doesn’t seem to fade away anytime soon. If you’re one of those motorcycle enthusiasts who has a thing for retro, then the Mash Desert Force 400 would surely entice you. It’s a limited edition motorcycle by the French manufacturer Mash Motors, a company which has a comprehensive portfolio of retro-styled two-wheelers.
If you think the Royal Enfield Classic and the Jawa Standard are profoundly vintage, do note that the Mash Desert is a step ahead with a styling reminiscent of military bikes from the 1960s. One look at it and certain design elements take you back in time such as a vertically-placed license plate on the front fender, headlamp casing, a tiny leather tank bag, sprung seat and a jerry can. However, the basic structure of the chassis and certain elements such as the peanut-shaped fuel tank and the underseat air-filter cover look similar to that of the Classic 350.
On contrary to the old-school styling, the Mash Desert Force gets modern features such as fully-digital instrument cluster and ABS. Powering the motorcycle is a 397cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine, performance figures of which haven’t been revealed. In terms of cycle parts, it incorporates telescopic forks and dual shock absorbers with a disc-drum braking combination. The fuel tank capacity stands at 13-litres while the dry weight of the bike is 163kgs.
The Mash Desert Force 400 is pegged at 4,994 Euros (approximately Rs 4.13 lakh). The production of the motorcycle will be limited to 103 units which makes it uncertain to be available anywhere outside the European markets.
