- Design document leaked
- Gets a similar design to the Honda cruiser
- Gets spoked wheels instead of alloys
Chinese two-wheeler manufacturers are well-known for blatantly mocking bikemakers' designs. This time around, it’s a Chinese carmaker, Wuling Motors, set to enter the bike market with a Honda Rebel-like offering.
The brand recently submitted design documents for its first motorcycle and the same has now been leaked on the web. The patent shows that the Wuling cruiser copies Honda Rebel’s bodywork. So, it’s set to feature the same round LED headlight, large fuel tank, split seat, and a wide handlebar. However, it can be distinguished from the Honda bike since it gets front fairing as well.
Powering the Wuling cruiser could be a twin-cylinder motor with a two-in-one exhaust system setup. The output figures and other intricate details are unknown as of now. It’s nestled in a tubular chassis suspended on telescopic front forks and gas-charged rear shocks. Its braking hardware comprises a single front and rear disc but the setup is mounted on spoked wheels instead of alloys.
Lastly, the bike is still in its early stages of design and needs to be first launched in China before Wuling steps foot in the international market.
