- Moto Guzzi Stelvio re-introduced
- Gets a 1042cc, V-twin engine
- Will not be launched in India
Italian manufacturer, Moto Guzzi has taken the wraps off the Stelvio- a bike that was pulled off the shelves a few years ago. The new version gets substantial updates to make it a more road-focused offering than the brand’s V85TT ADV.
The Moto Guzzi Stelvio is based on the same platform as the V100 Mandello and rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cross-spoked wheels wrapped in tubeless dual-purpose tyres. Suspension duties are taken care of by adjustable units for the front and rear. Powering the Stelvio is a 1042cc, liquid-cooled V-twin ‘Compact Block’ engine that is capable of churning out 115bhp and 115Nm of torque. The feature list is decent too and includes five customisable riding modes, ABS, traction control and a five-inch TFT display.
An interesting feature that the Stelvio comes with is the Piaggio Fast Forward Rider Assistance Solution. This tech uses 4D Imaging Radar to enable safety features like collision detection, blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control. Moto Guzzi is also offering accessories like heated seats, a large 52-litre top case as well and panniers that blend in well with the Stelvio’s design.
While the motorcycle will be launched in international markets soon, it will not make its way to India. However, if you are looking to buy a road-focused ADV in a similar range, there is the Honda Africa Twin, Kawasaki Versys 1000 and the BMW F850 GS as well.
