- New adventure bike from Moto Guzzi
- Could revive the Stelvio brand
- Likely to be powered by a 1048cc engine
Moto Guzzi quietly released a teaser of its upcoming motorcycle at the 2022 EICMA show. The brand had placed two spoke wheels with an image of the famous Stelvio mountain pass.
This smartly placed teaser clearly shows the brand’s adventure bike intentions. According to a report, the Italian brand is planning to revive its famous ADV brand – the Stelvio. This motorcycle brand was on sale in 2008 but went off the market when the Euro 4 emissions kicked in.
With this new teaser, it is clear that Moto Guzzi wants to make its presence felt in the growing adventure bike segment. However, this motorcycle won’t get that 1200cc engine from the old model. Rather, the brand is likely to use the 1048cc four-cylinder engine that is seen on the V85TT – an adventure tourer. This upcoming Stelvio will sit above the V85TT as it could get fancier equipment and features.
We can expect the Stelvio to be launched in two to three years and will go up against the new Honda Transalp 750, KTM 890 Adventure, and the Ducati Desert X. Sadly, this bike may not come to India due to the brand’s poor recall and value in the country.
