Indian cricket captain and superstar MS Dhoni has revealed the 2013 rider line up for his Supersport FIM world championship bike racing team. The team had entered the championship in the 600cc class halfway through the 2012 season and managed to pull off a remarkable podium finish at the final race in France.
Re-christened Mahi Racing Team India, the team will field 2012 world Supersport champion Kenan Sofouglu and Fabien Foret in addition to its current line-up of Dan Linfoot and Florian Marino. Bolstered by the surprise podium finish, Mahi Racing, which was formerly known as MSD R-N Racing India, has been signed by Kawasaki as its factory team. It will test the Ninja ZX-6R during the winter and hopes to compete for the 2013 title. The team’s new logo was also displayed for the first time during the unveiling.
This the third team after the Sahara Force India and Mahindra racing team to represent India in the international motorsports field. Expectations are running on the Dhoni’s team especially given the fact that the Supersport fraternity will be coming to India to race at the Buddh International Circuit next year.
