MV Agusta has launched the 2016 Brutale 1090 in India at Rs 19.3 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). As MV Agusta doesn’t have a showroom in India as of yet, customers can opt to book their motorcycle through the company’s official website or by directly visiting the company’s head office in Chinchwad, Pune.
The sculpted fuel tank, single-sided swingarm and the exposed frame give the Brutale 1090 the distinct look of an exotic streetfighter. It is built around a steel tubular trellis frame with a single-sided aluminium swingarm. Powering the Brutale 1090 is a revised version of the MV Agusta F4’s inline four-cylinder engine with a longer stroke. Displacing 1078cc, the engine delivers 142bhp and 112Nm of torque through a six-speed cassette style gearbox. MV Agusta claims a top speed of 265kmph for the Brutale 1090.
The MV Agusta Brutale 1090 is imported as a completely built unit (CBU) from Italy. It is available in two paint schemes – black and white. It competes with other litre-class streetfighters like the BMW S1000R, Aprilia Tuono 1100 V4, Ducati Monster 1200 and the Moto Guzzi Sports 8V. The first few MV Agusta showrooms are expected to come up in Pune, Mumbai and Delhi by March. For the first 10 buyers, MV Agusta is offering to deliver the Brutale 1090 within 20 days of the customers booking the motorcycle.
Commenting on the response to MV Agusta, Ajinkya Firodia, MD, MV Agusta India said, “We have been overwhelmed with the response to the MV Agusta product line ever since we made our announcement a couple of months ago. But since we launched our FB page and our website, we have received over 100 enquiries asking for deliveries of the motorcycles. Hence we have already started accepting bookings of these bikes as our network is already on way. We would like to deliver the motorcycles in a grand manner with our showroom launches.”
