Delayed by nearly a year, Italian Motorcycle brand MV Augusta has confirmed that the much awaited Brutale 800 will finally be launched in July 2017. The motorcycle will be introduced in the country via the semi knocked down (SKD) route and will be assembled at the Kinetic facility in Pune. Along with fresh style upgrades, the 2017 model complies with Euro 4 emission and noise regulations, as well.
The upcoming motorcycle will be powered by a 798 cc in-line, three cylinder engine that generates 109bhp of power at 11,500 rpm and peak torque of 83 Nm at 7,600 rpm. The performance focused motorcycle will get modern electronics like integrated multi-map ride-by-wire system with different riding modes, eight-level traction control and an electronic EAS 2.0 shift assist for clutchless shifts along with a hydraulic slipper clutch.
Speaking of the design element, the motorcycle will get full LED headlamps, redesigned tail lamps, new sculpted lines on the fuel tank and also gets a new fender. Additionally, the motorcycle gets concealed grab handles, new instrument panel, new LED blinkers and revised tail lamps. Reports indicate that the chassis has received some minor changes which has resulted in the bike getting a longer wheelbase. Moreover, the upcoming motorcycle will get switchable ABS system.
Post launch, the MV Agusta Brutale 800 will compete against the likes of the Ducati Monster 821, Kawasaki Z900, Yamaha MT-09 and the updated 2017 Triumph Street Triple. Although, the pricing aspect is not known for now, we expect it to be priced at around Rs 15 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
