Motoroyale has unveiled the MV Agusta Brutale 800 in India. The middleweight streetfighter is being sold as a semi knocked down (SKD) unit, priced at Rs 15.59 lakhs (ex-showroom).
For 2017, MV Agusta gave the Brutale 800 visual updates, targeted at making it more streamlined and aerodynamic. The sharp headlamp, sculpted fuel tank, single-sided swingarm and the exposed frame give the MV Agusta Brutale 800 the distinct look of an Italian exotic. It is built around a steel tubular trellis frame with an aluminium subframe and single-sided swingarm.
At the heart of the Brutale 800 is a BS IV-compliant 798cc inline three-cylinder engine. To keep the motor compliant with stringent Euro 4 emission norms, MV Agusta has been detuned to produce 109bhp as opposed to the older bike's 125bhp. The torque figure has gone up from 81Nm to 83Nm. Apart from an eight-level traction control system and ABS, the rider aids now includes a quickshifter and a new slipper clutch.
The MV Agusta Brutale 800 is currently the most affordable bike in the company's Indian line-up. It is available in three paint schemes – black, red and white. As a middleweight streetfighter, the Brutale 800 rivals the Triumph Street Triple 765 and the Kawasaki Z900. However due to the higher sticker price, it will also go up against bigger streetfighters like the Kawasaki Z1000, BMW R1200 R and the Moto Guzzi Griso 1200 8V.
