MV Agusta Brutale 800 is the Italian marque’s most affordable offering in the country. However at Rs 15.59 lakhs, you can’t exactly call it cheap, it’s a price you pay for exclusivity. Here is a photo gallery of the MV Agusta Brutale 800 which tries to justify the astronomical price tag –
The Brutale 800 went through an overhaul last year to make it Euro IV compliant. Apart from a revised engine, it also received a slew of technological and cosmetic updates.
The body is streamlined and aerodynamic, and features aggressive cues like a sculpted fuel tank, a sharply raked oval headlamp and the raised and minimalistic rear.
While the tail lamp is placed under the pillion seat, the turn indicators and registration plate are positioned on the tyre hugger.
The single-sided swingarm, triple pipe exhaust, exposed frame and the engine give the Burtale 800 a raw appeal.
The instrument console consists of a single LCD display, which shows riding modes, traction control and ABS settings along with the other basic functions.
The engine map can be switched in four modes – Rain, Normal, Sport and Custom, and can be changed through the right hand switchgear.
The Brutale 800’s 798cc inline triple engine was detuned to comply with Euro IV emission norms, and delivers 109bhp and 89Nm of torque.
The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission. It gets a slipper clutch and switchable quickshifter, which allows clutchless upshifts and downshifts.
The Brutale 800 rides on 43mm Marzocchi inverted front forks and a Sachs rear monoshock, both of which are fully adjustable.
The front gets dual 320mm discs while the rear gets a 220mm disc brake, with Brembo callipers. Switchable ABS is standard.
