- Special-edition limited to 200 units worldwide
- Based on the Dragster 800 RR
- Brutale 800 RR America available in India
MV Agusta has taken the wraps off the Dragster 800 RR America edition. The motorcycle, like its name suggests shares its underpinnings with the Dragster 800 RR which is sold internationally.
However, the Dragster 800 RR America is a special model with production limited to just 200 units worldwide. It sports a red, white and blue paint scheme similar to the American flag. The bike also gets a red seat with gold stitching and a red trellis frame that adds to its appeal. MV Agusta has paid attention to detail on the American-themed motorcycle with the blue spokes, red hub and white rims. The star motif on the fuel tank pays homage to the MV Agusta 750S from the 70s. It also gets the 'America Special Edition' tag on the visor along with its unique production number. MV Agusta is also offering a certificate of authenticity with each Dragster 800 RR America.
And if the bike looks familiar, it is. MV Agusta recently launched the Brutale 800 RR America in India which follows the same theme. However, the Dragster 800 RR is slightly more powerful than the former thanks to a higher compression ratio and revised dimensions. It is powered by a similar, 798cc, inline-three cylinder engine as the Brutale 800 RR although it produces 140bhp and 87Nm of torque and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with slip-assist clutch. And at 168kg, kerb, the Dragster 800 RR is also 8kg lighter than the Brutale which tips the scale at 175kg. In terms of electronics, the bike gets an eight-stage traction control and ride-by-wire throttle system.
MV Agusta has priced the Dragster 800 RR America at USD 19,998 (Rs 13.8 lakhs) in the US. However, it is unlikely to arrive on Indian shores anytime soon.
Update : Motoroyale will be introducing the MV Agusta Dragster 800 RR America Edition in India very soon
