MV Agusta has launched the Dragster 800RR in India with a price tag of Rs 18.73 lakh (ex-showroom). Along with the base model, the Italian manufacturer is also offering the Dragster 800 RR America also at Rs 18.73 lakh and the Dragster 800 RR Pirelli priced at Rs 21. 5 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom).
The Dragster 800 RR is the more performance-focused version of the Brutale 800 that is already on sale in the country. It comes powered by a similar 798cc, inline-three cylinder engine as the latter although with a higher compression ratio and revised dimensions. The Dragster 800 RR’s engine produces 140bhp of power and 87Nm of torque. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox along with a slip-assist clutch. And with a kerb weight of 168kg, the Dragster 800 RR is also 8kg lighter than the Brutale. In terms of electronics, the bike comes with eight-stage traction control and ride-by-wire throttle system.
The MV Agusta Dragster 800 RR America is inspired by the MV Agusta 750S and gets a red, white and blue paint scheme similar to the American flag. Moreover, it also sports a red seat with gold stitching along with a red trellis frame that adds to its appeal. MV Agusta has also paid attention to detail on the American-themed motorcycle with the blue spokes, red hub and white rims. The Dragster 800 America is limited to 200 units worldwide with only 5 units available in India. Each motorcycle gets a unique production number with ‘America Special Edition’ tag on the visor.
On the other hand, the Dragster 800 RR Pirelli edition, like its name suggests is made in collaboration with the tyre manufacturer. The motorcycle is available in two unique, dual-tone paint schemes of white/blue and black/yellow that are adorned with ‘Pirelli’ graphics on the seat and side panels. Both the Dragster 800 RR America and Dragster 800 RR Pirelli are mechanically similar to the standard model with absolutely no changes.
Bookings for the Dragster 800 RR series has commenced in MotoRoyale showrooms across India with deliveries expected to take place in the next few weeks.
