MV Agusta has lifted the wraps off the WSBK homologation special model of its popular litre-class superbike, the F4. Called the MV Agusta F4 RC, the superbike was unveiled in Australia during the launch of the Reparto Corse World Superbike and World Supersport team.
The MV Agusta F4 RC is the Italian manufacturer’s most powerful production motorcycle ever. While it is based on the F4 RR model, it has been majorly overhauled in pursuit of lightness and more power. While the ‘standard’ F4 RR produces 201bhp, the same 998cc V4 engine has been tuned to churn out a whopping 212bhp for the F4 RC.
Not just the power figures, but even the overall weight has seen a significant change. The F4 RC is 15 kilograms lighter than the F4 RR. The loss in weight has been achieved through the extensive use of carbon fibre and magnesium parts in the engine and other components. The suspension has been upgraded to Ohlins units and an optional full titanium Termignoni exhaust system is also offered.
Commenting on the F4 RC, a MV Agusta statement said, "This new, ultra-refined, exclusive fireball of a bike, entrusted to the experience of super-fast racer Leon Camier, will be marketed as a limited edition in a dual road/ready to race configuration, so enthusiasts can enjoy unleashing its standard 212hp on the track." The MV Agusta F4 RC adorns Italy’s tricolour livery and has been priced at EUR 36,900 (Rs 26.12 lakh) in the European market.
