MV Agusta will make a comeback to the MotoGP world after 42-years. It has now revealed what its Moto2 bike will look like through a few rendered images.
The bike heavily draws inspiration from the manufacturer’s F3 supersport. It has a similarly designed tank and sharp rear section. The headlamp has now been replaced with an air-intake while it continues to sport the cast/trellis frame that has been made by MV Agusta itself. The swingarm on the other hand has been designed Suter.
The MV Agusta bike will be powered by Triumph’s 765cc, inline-three engine that will be used in the Moto2 championship from 2019. The manufacturer has an advantage given its expertise with inline-three engines and supersport motorcycles. MV Agusta has signed a four-year deal with the Forward Racing, a team that has been in the Moto2 World Championship since 2010. It has also participated in the MotoGP World Championship, gaining first place in the world ranking reserved for Open bikes in 2014 with Aleix Espargaró.
With the first prototype already in advanced stages of development, MV Agusta is expected to debut the bike on the track sometime next month.
