A couple of days after its images were leaked by a Dutch website, MV Agusta has officially revealed the Stradale 800 at the ongoing EICMA Show in Milan, Italy. Targeted at the Ducati Hyperstrada, the Stradale 800 is based on the MV Agusta Rivale, though it has been upgraded to increase its appeal.
The Stradale 800 has been equipped with a new aerodynamic and adjustable windshield, new seat and redesigned mirrors. It is built around a steel trellis frame and like the other three-cylinder motorcycles in MV Agusta’s line-up, the Stradale 800 sports a triple exhaust arrangement. The Stradale 800’s exhaust pipes however, use rectangular tips instead of the conventional circular ones found in the Rivale and other standard 800cc motorcycles.
The 800 Stradale is powered by the same three-cylinder 800cc engine, though the power figure has been brought down to 115bhp, thanks to the lower rev limit of 11,000rpm. The torque figure has also been reduced to 78Nm from 84Nm. The suspension has been altered to handle the extra weight. The fuel tank capacity has been increased and it can now accommodate 16 litres as opposed to 12.9 litres in the Rivale.
To increase its load-carrying capacity, the Stradale 800 has been equipped with panniers, which also integrate the turn indicators. The passenger foot pegs have been repositioned to make space for the panniers. The Stradale 800 also gets a different set of wheels.
Like all the Italian exotics, the MV Agusta Stradale 800 is a beauty to behold, though we are not too sure about its off-roading capabilities. The Stradale 800 will be available in three paint schemes - red/silver, pearl white/aviation grey and bronze/pearl white. Prices in the European market start at EUR 13,990 (Rs 10.73 lakh).
