- Was teased on social media
- Will be based on the F3 800
- Expected to come to India after its global launch
MV Agusta has teased its upcoming supersport offering, the Superveloce 800 on social media and confirmed that the motorcycle will be introduced by 2020. Unveiled at the 2018 EICMA show as a concept model, the Superveloce 800 features a unique modern-retro design which harks back to the Italian brand’s racing motorcycles of the 1960s.
The teaser image released by MV Agusta gives a glimpse of the production model of Superveloce and it looks closely similar to the concept version we saw at last year’s EICMA. The most distinctive element of the motorcycle is the small circular headlamp housing a conventional bulb which will perhaps be replaced by LED headlamps on the production model. Subsequently, the round tail lamp featuring a jet engine-like LED lighting is yet another quirky element on the motorcycle. The gold-finished chassis, red-painted seat and a leather strip on the fuel tank are a few premium touches on the Superveloce.
To be based on the MV Agusta F3 800, the Superveloce will be powered by a 798cc, inline three-cylinder motor. While this mill produces 145.9bhp and 88Nm on the F3, it will perhaps be tuned to deliver more power on the Superveloce. The concept version featured a fully-digital instrument cluster and it is likely to be retained on the production model. We also expect it to come equipped with electronics such as eight levels of traction control, electronic quick-shifter and rear-lift mitigation as standard.
MV Agusta is likely to unveil the production version of the Superveloce 800 at this year’s EICMA show in Milan. As for its India entry, expect MV Agusta to bring the motorcycle to our shores only after its global launch.
