- Was unveiled at last year’s EICMA show in Milan
- Has been confirmed for a debut next year
- Will get MV Agusta F3 800’s engine
The MV Agusta Superveloce 800 has emerged victorious at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2019 show, competing in the Concept Bike category. The Italian bikemaker had revealed the motorcycle in its concept form at last year’s EICMA show in Milan while the company’s recent social media post has conveyed that it will be introduced in the production avatar next year.
Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is a highly acclaimed vintage car and bike exhibition which is held annually since 1929. The event takes place on the shores of Lake Camo in Italy near the Villa d’Este hotel where the cars and bikes are displayed in various categories.
The MV Agusta Superveloce 800 concept features the same 798cc, in-line three-cylinder motor which does duty on the F3 800. While we are familiar with the powerplant, the design is something which was never seen before. Carrying forward its legacy of creating mesmerizing designs, MV Agusta has crafted the Superveloce 800 beautifully enough to drop jaws. The motorcycle takes inspiration from MV Agusta’s race bikes of 1960s which is epitomised by its old-school design cues. The round headlamp nestled in an aerodynamic fairing and jet engine-like LED tail lamp are the highlights of the Superveloce 800. Meanwhile, the red coloured seat, leather strap on the fuel tank and the gold-finished frame add to the premium appeal of the bike.
In terms of features, the concept is equipped with a full-colour TFT instrument cluster. While this is likely to be retained on the production model, we also expect it to get electronic aids such as eight levels of traction control, electronic quick shifter and rear lift mitigation as standard.
While MV Agusta has confirmed that the debut of the Superveloce 800 will take place next year, the Italian brand is likely to unveil the motorcycle at this year’s EICMA show in Milan, Italy.
