MV Agusta has launched its touring motorcycle, the Turismo Veloce 800, in India. The Italian bikemaker is known to design breathtakingly attractive machines and the Turismo Veloce is no different. And in that case, the motorcycle deserves our close attention in these pictures from its launch.
Starting up front, the motorcycle carries the brand’s signature diamond-shaped LED headlamp which is housed in a nicely chiseled front panel. The tall windscreen adds to the bike’s touring credentials.
Further portraying its touring intentions are the one piece handlebar along with knuckle guards which sport sleek LED turn indicators.
The angular quarter fairing gets a two-tone treatment with bold decals. This fairing blends with the sculpted fuel tank which gets a generous capacity of 21.5 litres, matching its touring purpose.
The split-seat setup adds a sporty touch to the design while the long and wide rider’s seat, along with centre-set footpegs, should make long distance riding a comfortable affair.
The Italian tourer is underpinned by tubular steel trellis frame with bolted-on sub-frame which makes for a floating tail section.
Suspension hardware comprises of Marzocchi inverted telescopic hydraulic forks at the front and Sachs single shock absorber at the rear, both being fully adjustable.
The motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels while the stopping power comes from dual 320mm discs up front and a 220mm disc at the rear, assisted by dual-channel Bosch 9 Plus ABS as standard.
Powering the Turismo Veloce is a 798cc, in-line triple cylinder, liquid-cooled motor which produces 108.6bhp at 10,150rpm and 80Nm of torque at 7,100rpm. This mill comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
MV Agusta has priced the Turismo Veloce 800 at Rs 18.99 lakhs which makes it the most expensive 800cc tourer in India. However, the company is retailing the bike at Rs 16.99 lakhs (both prices are ex-showroom) for the first three customers in the country.
