The MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 touring motorcycle is all set to be launched in India tomorrow, 29 August. It is the only touring model in the bikemaker’s portfolio and will join the Brutale 800 and the F3 800 in MV Agusta’s middle-weight line-up in India.
The Turismo Veloce comes equipped with an easy-to-reach, single-unit handlebar along with centre-set footpegs which make for touring-friendly ergonomics. However, on the design front, the bike looks profoundly sporty taking inspiration from its fully-faired siblings and featuring aggressive lines all over its bodywork. The motorcycle boasts of a distinctively-styled LED headlamp and tail lamp along with knuckle guard-mounted LED turn indicators. Furthermore, the instrumentation consists of a full-colour TFT console which displays a host of information.
The steel trellis frame of the Turismo Veloce holds a 798cc, in-line triple cylinder, liquid-cooled motor which pumps out 110HP of power at 11,500rpm and 83Nm of peak torque which comes in at 7,600rpm. Transmission duties are handled by six-speed gearbox which is assisted by up and down electronic quickshifter and hydraulic slipper clutch. Suspension setup comprises of Marzocchi inverted forks up front and Sachs monoshock at the rear. Anchors are dropped with a pair of 320mm discs with four-piston calipers at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear, accompanied by Bosch dual-channel ABS.
MV Agusta is likely to peg the Turismo Veloce 800 in the ballpark of Rs 18.5 lakhs to Rs 19 lakhs (ex-showroom) which will be a considerable premium over its sporty sibling, the F3 800. In terms of competition, the touring machine will go up against the Ducati Multistrada 950 and the Triumph Tiger 800 XRx.
