- Turismo Veloce 800 is a touring motorcycle
- Is powered by the same motor as the F3 800 and Brutale 800
- Likely to be priced around Rs 18.5 lakhs to Rs 19 lakhs
MV Agusta is all set to expand its portfolio in India as it will be launching its touring motorcycle, the Turismo Veloce 800, on 29 August in the country.
Boasting of the traditional MV Agusta design language, the Turismo Veloce sports a front section similar to the F3 800 and F4 sportsbikes. Beyond that, it features an angular quarter fairing which blends with a sculpted fuel tank. At the rear, the upswept tail section carries a split seat and a unique LED tail lamp. The motorcycle justifies its touring tag with a tall windscreen, knuckle guards, easy-to-reach handlebar, long travel suspension and a tall stance.
Underpinned by a trellis frame, the Turismo Veloce is powered by a 798cc, inline three cylinder motor which belts out 108bhp of power and 83Nm of torque. This mill comes mated to a six-speed gearbox which is assisted by a slipper clutch and quick-shifter. Other electronic aids include a ride-by-wire throttle along with eight-levels of traction control. Suspension duties are handled by Marzocchi upside down forks at the front and a Sachs monoshock at the rear, with preload, rebound and compression adjustment. Braking hardware comprises of dual 320mm discs with four-pot calipers up front and a 220mm disc at the rear.
Coming to the pricing, the motorcycle is likely to carry a significant premium over the F3 800, which retails at Rs 17.25 lakhs. In that case, expect the Turismo Veloce 800 to be priced around Rs 18.5 lakhs to 19 lakhs. The touring motorcycle will go lock horns with the Ducati Multistrada 950 and the Triumph Tiger 800 XRx in India.
