Motoroyale is all set to launch the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce sports tourer in India. The motorcycle has already arrived here for the homologation process while the bookings and deliveries are expected to start from next month. In the international markets, it is available in four variants - standard, Lusso, Lusso SCS and RC SCS. However, it is still unclear which variants will go on sale in India. Moreover, the pricing of the bike is not confirmed yet but the standard trim is expected to cost around Rs 20 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The Turismo Veloce boasts of the traditional MV Agusta design with the diamond-shaped headlamp, angular and chiselled fairing, sculpted tank and a high set tail section. The Lusso variant gets luggage panniers, Sachs upside-down front forks and golden alloy wheels as added elements. Additionally, the Lusso also comes with an option of SCS (smart clutch system) which is a type of automatic gearbox for motorcycles.
The MV Agusta Turismo Veloce is powered by a 798cc, three-cylinder motor which churns out 108bhp of power and 80Nm of torque. It comes mated with a 6-speed gearbox along with the quick shifter. In terms of electronics, the motorcycle comes integrated with ride-by-wire throttle, 8-level traction control and slipper clutch while the Lusso variant also gets cruise control.
In terms of specifications and body style, the Turismo Veloce will compete against the BMW S 1000 XR and the Ducati Multistrada 1260 in India. However, in its price range, it will go up against bikes such as the Yamaha YZF R1, BMW S 1000 RR, Ducati Panigale V4 and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R.
