MV Agusta has updated their three-cylinder motorcycles to comply with Euro 4 emission norms. The F3 675, F3 800 and Dragster 800 will get updates for the engine and the electronics which will allow the manufacturer to sell the motorcycles beyond 2018.
MV Agusta has added a new balance shaft, oil and water pump, drive gearing and primary gearing to reduce noise. New protective engine covers also ensure the reduction in noise levels. It also features a redesigned intake cam and valves. The company has also revised the clutch operation with a new exhaust manifold and larger silencer. Electronically, the bikes get an upgraded MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) and OBD (On-board-diagnostics) has been mandatorily added.
Although these updates have cut exhaust emissions by 50 per cent and noise levels by 48 per cent on all bikes, the power on the F3 800 also has dropped. The older model made 146bhp while the new one makes 142bhp. Power for the F3 675 and Dragster 800 remain the same at 126bhp and 138bhp respectively.
MV Agusta updated the Brutale 800 to Euro4 last year. The bike saw a drop in power after the update. The manufacturer sells the Brutale 800 here in India at Rs 15.59 lakhs along with the F3 800, which retails at Rs 16.31 lakhs. All prices are ex-showroom Mumbai.
