MV Agusta will showcase its most awaited 1000cc platform at this year’s EICMA show in Italy. This news was confirmed by Giovanni Castiglioni, CEO, MV Agusta, at the launch of the new Brutale 800RR.
The first motorcycle to be developed using this new platform will be the new Brutale. This will be followed by a neo-classical café racer which will debut in 2020. The replacement for F4 superbike is expected sometime in 2021 as the development time is more and the demand for superbikes has been decreasing over the last few years. The current F4 superbike will be taken off from the market when it no longer meets Euro-4 norms. But the top honcho went on to say that the new F4 will be a 300bhp electric/petrol hybrid motorcycle.
The Italian brand plans to bid adieu to the legendary F4 by introducing the final ‘Claudio’ edition, named after Giovanni’s father, Claudio Castiglioni. This variant will basically be a WSB-spec bike with lighter and expensive components to make it really special. There are no details given out regarding the price yet, but expect it to be really expensive.
