A new 1200cc boxer-engined BMW sports tourer has been spotted testing in Germany. A report from Visordown which has published the picture of the motorcycle says that this is believed to be the latest incarnation of the German automaker’s 1170cc boxer engine that powers the R1200GS.
The 1170cc unit produces 125bhp and 126Nm of torque and we expect that this new sports tourer’s engine too will produce the same power figures. The report suggests that this motorcycle will be called the R1200GT and will sit between the F800GT and the R1200RT in semi-faring avatar.
The spied motorcycle looks little different from the traditional BMW design, but due to heavy camouflaging in the front, it quite is difficult to comment on the fairing design. The motorcycle is expected to be unveiled at the Cologne Motor Show in October. Since BMW Motorrad offers almost its entire range in India, we expect that this bike will make its way to the Indian market when it is launched.
