Aprilia’s new quarter-litre adventure tourer, the Terra 250, has revealed itself through a spy photograph that was reportedly captured at the company’s factory. The Terra series already features 125cc and 150cc models, both of which are available in select international markets.
The Terra 250 draws styling cues from its lower displacement siblings. Similar to the Terra 150, the Terra 250 should be available in two variants – Standard and Adventure. The standard Terra 150 features a beak-style design and an 18-inch front wheel. The Adventure variant, on the other hand, misses out on the beak-style front and gets a 21-inch front wheel.
The hardware on the Terra 250 comprises of conventional telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock to perform the shock absorption tasks. The anchoring power comes from disc brakes on both wheels while the safety net should include a dual-channel ABS. The exhaust on the Terra 250, as seen in the spy photograph, is conventionally positioned instead of the tall-set unit on the Terra 150.
Mechanical specifications would most likely include a GPR250-sourced 249cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the motor on the GPR250 is tuned to deliver 26.1bhp of maximum power and 22Nm of peak torque. We may see similar power and torque output numbers for the Terra 250.
