- 500cc and 1200cc V4 engines in the works
- Could be used by both Benda and Keeway
- Power figures and other details revealed
Chinese two-wheeler manufacturer, Benda, is set to introduce two of its V4 engines very soon. The details for both have been revealed including the power figures and dimensions as well. Here’s what they look like.
Of the two, one of the new engines will boast a cubic capacity of 496cc in a V4 configuration. Its power output will be limited to 57bhp at 10,000rpm and 45Nm at 8,000rpm. It gets a bore and stroke measurement of 53.5mm and 55.2mm respectively.
Next up, the larger motor will house 1,198cc in the same V4 format and dish out 154bhp at 9,500rpm and 121Nm at 7,500rpm. Its bore and stroke numbers are 76mm and 66mm respectively. Not to mention, both engines will be mated to a six-speed gearbox. However, Benda is yet to reveal the bikes in which these motors be plonked.
Benda recently unveiled its 125cc V-twin cruiser motorcycle, the Fox. It has been introduced along the Keeway V-cruise and both bikes look identical as well as share the mechanicals. And considering the platform sharing, you can expect the new Keeway to leverage from the new Benda V4 engines.
Currently, the only V4 engine bikes sold in India are the Ducati V4 range and Aprilia RSV4. That said if Keeway India’s future pans out well, it could introduce the two bikes here.
