- QJMotor reveals the new Race 250 fully-faired bike
- Likely to be sold in the international markets by Benelli
Benelli’s parent company, QJMotor, has multiple new models on display at this year’s Beijing International Motorcycle Exhibition. One of the most interesting products amongst these is the Race 250 fully-faired motorcycle. If Benelli plans to bring this to our shores in the future, it would be a close competition to the KTM RC 200.
The Race 250 boasts an aggressive styling with an angry-looking front end that comprises a dual headlamp setup with a sharp nose fairing and an air-intake-like opening at the centre. The rest of the body work too looks edgy and muscular while the bold graphics enhance its visual appeal further. With full-LED lighting, a colour TFT instrument cluster, and dual-channel ABS, it is decently equipped for its class.
Propelling the QJ Race 250 is a 249cc, DOHC, single-cylinder engine that produces 27.1bhp of power at 9,500rpm and 22.5Nm of peak torque at 7,250rpm. It’s better than the KTM RC 200 not only in terms of performance but it is also marginally lighter with a kerb weight of 159kg. The fuel tank capacity is 12.5-litres. As for the hardware, the Race 250 rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that are suspended by KYB upside down forks and a monoshock. The braking setup includes a single disc at both ends.
Benelli might launch a slightly revised version of the QJ Race 250 in the international markets. Although it’s difficult to comment on the likeliness of its India arrival at the moment, it will make for an enticing proposition if priced right.
