- New BMW R1300GS Spotted
- Gets new design, bigger engine
- Like to debut at the 2022 EICMA
BMW Motorrad is readying one of their biggest motorcycles ever – the next-generation R1300GS. The bike has been spotted once again and this time too, it is fully camouflaged.
From the spy shots, it is clear that the big ADV is likely to get a brand-new design. The fascia gets sharper design cues than the R1250GS. This area is also where the brand will equip the bike with chips and sensors for the radar system. Other bits like the large windscreen and big fuel tank along with side panels can also be seen on the bike.
In terms of performance, the boxer engine on the bike looks a bit bigger. So we can expect the German brand to give it more power and torque than the R1250GS. The six-speed gearbox too will be new and will transfer power to the rear wheel via a shaft drive.
Like all other BMWs, the new R1300GS will also get plenty of electronics and features to keep the rider safe and also comfortable while riding long distances. The new R1300GS will get multiple riding modes, along with TCS and ABS. The bike is likely to have radar-based cruise control and also a blind spot detection system.
BMW Motorrad may unveil the new R1300GS at the 2022 EICMA. But there’s a high chance that this could be pushed for 2023 as the R1250GS is still doing good sales for the brand overall.
