- Gets radar-based blind spot detection
- Equipped with an eight-inch TFT display
- Powered by KTM’s LC8C engine
The China-based two-wheeler manufacturer, CFMoto has taken the wraps off the new Explore Edition of its 800 MT adventure touring model. This iteration has more tricks up its sleeves as compared to other trims, including the radar-based blind spot detection system which we have already seen in the Ducati Multistrada V4.
The new CFMoto 800MT Explore Edition comes fitted with radar sensors at the back of the motorcycle which detect vehicles in the blind spot of the rider and alert them on the instrument cluster. As we have observed while riding the Multistrada V4, this feature makes lane changing much safer, especially on the highway amidst fast-moving vehicles. Besides the inclusion of a blind spot detector, the Explore Edition also gets a new eight-inch TFT console which is touch-sensitive and gets Bluetooth connectivity and voice control.
The 800MT Explore also gets changes on the hardware front. In order to make it a better off-roader, CFMoto has equipped the bike with dual-purpose tyres from Michelin while the traction control system has also been revised for lesser intrusion and a more seamless experience. The engine, meanwhile, has been left unchanged. Powering the bike is KTM’s LC8C engine which churns out around 95bhp and 75Nm of peak torque. Stopping power comes from J Juan brakes at both ends with 320mm and 260mm diameters for the front and rear discs, respectively.
The CFMoto 800MT Explore Edition will sit on top of the Sport and Touring versions of the bike but its prices haven’t been announced yet. And this bike might be launched in India in the future if CFMoto decides to further expand its India line-up which, at present, comprises four bikes – 650GT, 650MT, 650NK, and 300NK.
