- Type approval documents leaked
- Looks identical to the TRK 800
- Could get front and rear cameras for precautionary purposes
Back in April, we reported that Benelli was working on another ADV in the form of the TRK 702. Its type approval documents were leaked and the bike was registered in the Chinese market. Now, new details of its features too have been leaked via the design images.
Benelli is likely to equip the TRK 702 with a front and rear camera set. These will essentially work as dash camera(s) for added precautions. The bikemaker has already experimented with the aforementioned tech back in 2020 during the launch of the 1200GT tourer in China. The camera(s) is likely to feed live images or recorded videos to the motorcycle’s instrument console. The same can also be downloaded via Bluetooth connection to a smartphone.
The TRK 702’s design seems to be borrowed from the TRK 800 (sold overseas). The leaked images suggest that it gets the same butch bodywork with a split LED headlight topped by a transparent visor. It gets aluminium knuckle guards as well as crash guards all around the fairing.
It could be powered by a 693cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled motor with the output rated at 75bhp. Now, the motor appears similar to the one used in the CFMoto 700CL but, Benelli could tune it differently to suffice the ADV purpose.
Like a typical touring-focused ADV, the TRK 502 is also likely to feature a top box rack and saddle stay as well. It’ll get dual disc brakes at the front and a single-rear disc with dual-channel ABS. Even though the leaked images show that the bike rides on spoked wheels, you can expect the manufacturer to offer it with alloys as well.
