- Manufacturing permission received in China
- Likely to borrow the motor from QJ Motor
- Could be unveiled in 2024
While Harley-Davidson has been tightlipped about its upcoming 300-500cc motorcycle range, some new details of the bike have been leaked again. Here’s what we know about it now.
Harley-Davidson has ties with the Chinese two-wheeler brand, Qianjiang. And now the joint venture has received approval from the Chinese government for manufacturing motorcycles there. The JV was likely established to manufacture small-capacity Harleys since the same would also be sold under Qianjiang’s banner by QJ Motor, Benelli, and Keeway.
Currently, the Chinese manufacturer owns all three aforementioned brands with Keeway's V302C and QJ Motor’s SRV 300 small cruisers already on sale in India. And we expect the Harley cruiser to also benefit from the two in terms of the motor and other cycle parts as well. Not to mention, Harley-Davidson’s 500cc cruiser could also be in the pipeline
The Harley-Davidson 338R’s images have been leaked quite a few times and we expect the production model to likely feature the same design. Not to mention, considering the brand recall, it’ll be priced at a premium compared to its supposed Chinese counterparts. The bike is in its development stages, and we expect the Harley-Davidson cruiser to debut sometime in 2024.
